Skiing in Borovets
The real charm of Borovets can be felt during the winter. The winter season lasts from December to April and mountain lovers from all over Europe converge on the resort to partake in the many snow sports on offer. As well as traditional skiing and snowboarding the resort offers cross-country skiing, ski jumps and biathlon, ski-doo, ice-skating and night- skiing. Borovets offers 58km of slopes with various difficulties and lengths. The slopes are bashed daily and maintained to a high standard. The ski runs vary in difficulty and length and can be grouped in three regions: Sitniakovo – Martinovi Baraki slopes, Markujik slopes and Yastrebets slopes. The slopes on the Yastrebets section are the most challenging and regularly host various winter sports competitions. Borovets has twice hosted World Cup competitions in Alpine skiing. Borovets has an extensive network of snow cannons to ensure that the slope conditions are maintained throughout the season.

Ski School
One of the major attractions of Bulgaria and especially Borovets is the high standard of instruction available at a much lower cost than is common in the ski resorts of western Europe.
The instruction is divided into 5 different levels according to the skill level of the individual. The lessons may be group or individual (subject to request) and the duration of the course is from anything from 3 to 12 days. There is also a ski kindergarten for the children aged 4 to 8 years which runs for the entire day.
Night skiing

For night skiing there is a special lift pass that has to be bought separately at the kiosks on the pistes. It is valid from 5 pm till 10 pm.
